Ouch!

I'm in the process of refinishing our kitchen table. I had painted it black just before we got married and it was too glossy for my taste so I'm just now getting around to redoing it. Anyways, Saturday I was stripping it with paint remover. Now if you have never used paint remover before, you need to know this: it stings when it touches your skin. Let's just say it is a harsh chemical. With that said, I was not thinking and not wearing eye protection. Yes, it splashed into my eye. I thought I was losing my eyesight. I screamed and spent most of the rest of the day with my eye closed because it hurt so bad! My eye is fine, I flushed it with water for about 15 minutes but man did it hurt! I would've taken a picture of how red my eye was but I lost my camera! I set it ontop of my car and then drove off. Bummer.

Papa

My Papa had bypass surgery this morning. They did 4 bypasses and his blood flow is really good now. Thank goodness the surgery went well! We sure were praying for him. He has a pretty long recovery ahead of him but hopefully he will feel tons better once he is all recovered!

Snow

We got some snow a few days after all you guys in Dallas did. Not as much as y'all, but it was still pretty. You cannot believe how beautiful the snow is on all of the pine trees here in Georgia! It is just breathtaking. I didn't ever get a picture of that-there are not many pine trees right by our house. Major absolutely loves the snow! He bites at it and it makes him psychotically excited! No new news yet about the med board process but I promise to keep y'all updated as we find out new things.

Shocking Turn of Events!

Okay get ready...our lives are taking another major turn! Jordan had his dr. appointment last Thursday. Dr. Svaboda (Jordan's ortho Dr. at West Point) has put Jordan on a permanent physical profile. His profile pretty much states that he cannot do the aerobic event on the Army Physical Fitness Test (APFT) which is a 2 mile run, or any alternate aerobic event on the test. It also has other limitations such as no marches with a ruck (a heavy backpack). Basically what this means is that Jordan is not deployable. The next step is for Jordan to go through the MEB (medical evaluation board). This board decides whether or not to retain Jordan in the Army. So the MEB will either retain him and stick him in some boring desk job for the remainder of his 6 years of service or they will medically discharge him out of the Army. We are really praying and hoping to get medically discharged!

Jordan is doing great with all this news. I think with everything that has gone on this past year and half we are both just happy to move on to something else. Jordan is going to start networking and looking for jobs in Dallas to prepare for the event that the Army medically discharges him. The MEB process could take up to 6 months. We really don't know how long everything is going to take. In the meantime, we are just here waiting.

Yuck in the NE

Jordan left a little bit ago for the Atlanta airport. His doctor's appointment is tomorrow at West Point. All of the NE is getting hammered with snow and windy conditions today so we're not sure if he will make it up there. Jordan probably has a long, long day ahead of him! This seems to always happen to him! He is jinxed with flying, his flights are NEVER on time!
