The second week of our vacation we stayed in Carrollton with my parents. The first weekend we celebrated my mom's 50th birthday! She turned 50 on Tuesday but the Saturday before we went to Joe T Garcia's in Ft. Worth. After our lunch there, we had more family come over to the house for homemade ice cream. It was perfect!
The rest of the week consisted of bridal showers for me, job-hunting & networking for Jordan, and lots of the pool and fun with my parents!

Our 2nd Anniversary!
Jordan and I celebrated our 2nd anniversary last week! We can't believe it has already been 2 years! We were in Dallas visiting my parents so we decided to eat at Mortons for dinner. Now, if you have never been here, it is amazing! But very $$ so it can't be a frequent dinner place!! This is what we had: Oysters Rockefeller, Salad, Rib eye (for me), double fillet Mignon (for Jordan), asparagus, potato hash, the most amazing chocolate molten lava cake, and of course red wine! After dinner, we stayed at the Hilton Anatole, which is in downtown Dallas. This was my parents gift to us for our anniversary (but we really think my mom just didn't want us in her house on our anniversary night!!!! haha!!!! We teased her about that!) Anyways, it was a wonderful 2nd Anniversary!
Last 2 Weeks
I'm so sorry I have not posted anything the last 2 weeks. We have been in Houston and Dallas visiting our parents, and I don't like to post on the worldwide web that we are not at home until we get back. Anyways, we had a wonderful time, and squeezed quite a bit in during our trip. I'll keep adding things about it over the next few days.

Storms
The night before last we had some storms through the night. About 5 am the floor fan we have in our bedroom went berserk, blowing really fast and loud. This woke us up and then the fan stopped. A few minutes later, the ceiling fan also went berserk, spinning super fast! We later found the culprit...this tree. It's funny how electricity can get so messed up and make your electronics do odd things! Anyways, it ruined the back porch as you can see. And ripped some siding off the back of the house.
This is how we first realized a tree had fallen. Look at the view out the back door! haha!
The power lines were also down in our driveway.

This is the connection to the electric meter, which was ripped out of the side of the house. This is why we didn't have power all day.
It bent our satellite dish so we have no TV for now until they can come fix it!

We were very lucky though the tree didn't fall on our truck. Look how close it was!

It did fry our wine refrigerator. It doesn't work at all anymore! So sad! We were very lucky our new big TV was okay. We bought a surge protector when we bought the new TV. The surge protector got fried but saved the TV and our Wii! I cannot tell you how bad that surge protector smelled! Like burning plastic! So everyone...go get surge protectors for your expensive electrical items!

Memorial Day Weekend
I hope everyone had a wonderful Memorial Weekend. We saw two movies: Alice in Wonderland and The Bounty Hunter. We like the Bounty Hunter the best, it was a pretty cute chick flick. We also went to visit Auburn University. We are only about 40 minutes from there, and Jordan had not seen the campus yet! It is a beautiful campus, and we had a great time. We were kind of disappointed though because Toomers (the best place to get amazing lemonade) was closed for Memorial Day! We made up for it with a few beers down the street though! :)
We had a very interesting day today, which I will blog about tomorrow. I'm very exhausted tonight and have lots of pictures to post about our day today, which will take a while (you would not believe how slow our internet connection is here!)
