‘TIL DEATH DO US PART: ELDERLY COUPLE DIES HOLDING HANDS

Gordon, 94, and Norma Yeager, 90, of Des Moines, Iowa, were married for 72 years. According to a local report, from high school onward they wanted to be together forever. On Earth, they got about as close to “forever” as any human couple could ask for, and last week they died an hour apart while holding hands with each other.

Watch the local KCCI-TV report from Kansas City, Iowa:

KCCI reports the couple’s son, Dennis Yeage, as saying the couple was in a car accident last Wednesday, which put them in intensive care. Nurses did not separate the couple. Gordon died first but, as Dennis says in the news clip, Gordon’s heart monitor was still registering a beat. This is because the monitor was picking up Norma‘s heart beat through Gordon’s hand. Norma died an hour later:

“Staying together for 72 years is good, I‘d say that’s exceptional,” said daughter Donna Sheets.

[...]

“Neither one of them would’ve wanted to be without each other. I couldn’t figure out how it was going to work,” said Donna Sheets. “We were very blessed, honestly, that they went this way.”

KCCI reports that the couple was buried holding hands in their casket on Monday.

Today Marks 6 Months!

Jordan had his brain hemorrhage exactly 6 months ago today. His doctor had told us afterwards that he was at a slightly increased risk for the next 6 months for having another one. Well, he made it 6 months, so hopefully he will never have another one! yay! He really only has one symptom that has hung around...he really struggles with drinking frozen drinks haha. He seems to get brain freezes easier (which is what his neurosurgeon likened the brain hemorrhage to feeling like- a horrible, constant brain freeze for about a week). Whenever he has a margarita or other frozen drink he seems to get a brain freeze quicker and it takes longer to go away. We're just glad that seems to be the only lasting effect!

OU Football Weekend

A few weekends ago we went up to Norman with my parents to visit my brother, Travis. We went to an OU football game, which they of course dominated. My dad got some fantastic pictures- I especially love the one of all the fans with their hands up!
Another touchdown celebration...

This is the picture I was talking about-so cool!
The 5 of us before the game
At Fuzzy's Taco before the OU game so we could watch my poor Baylor Bears lose.
Fuzzy's Taco
The Mont-A local pre-game hangout in Norman.

The famous drinks at the Mont.

We also got to see Jordan's grandma and his cousins and aunt and uncle. It was one busy day, but a fun one!

Shay is married!

My good friend, Shay, got married this weekend! It was a fabulous wedding, and we had a wonderful time. I stole this picture off facebook so excuse it's not-so-great quality. Jordan was an usher and I was in the house party so we had an almost full-day of festivities. Jack and Karol came up for it, and it was wonderful to see them too! One of my favorite thing at the reception was these cute little Dr. Pepper floats, which was a fun Baylor-ish thing! :)

Congratulations Shay and Adam!

Interesting

I went to the grocery store today, and I saw something so interesting that I must share! There was a parade/festival today right by the grocery store I go to, and a lot of the attenders were in costumes or outfits or whatever you want to call it. Two men were over by the deli counter, dressed like this:
Police hat.

Heels similar to these.
And speedos. Yes, speedos. Striped, colorful speedos that show lots of skin. And no shirts.

It sure is hard not to stare when two men are dressed like that! It gave me a good laugh though!

woops!

We cracked up at this in the newspaper today!
