We moved on April 13 into our new house. Both sets of parents were wonderful and helped us all weekend. Jordan's brother, Jason, also came down from OK so we had lots of help. The move went smoothly until late that night.
We had a major sewage backup in the downstairs bathroom...yuck!!!
Our wet/dry vac was still at our old condo so our neighbor was nice enough to lend us his since sewage was gushing out of the tub and toilet everywhere. Don't worry, we have since bought him a new one. This is our neighbor helping Jordan.I finally took Jordan a beer. He was having to just sit and there and vacuum up the sewage as it came out. Not a happy night for him.
We had a company come out and de-humidify the area and sanitize it. They ripped out everything that got sewage water on it so it wouldn't grow with mold.
And now here's the aftermath. Missing drywall.
Part of the vanity had to be ripped out too.
This is the guest bedroom floor. The sewage water went under the wall and under part of the guest bedroom so they ripped that out too. This flooring goes throughout the entire first floor of the house so hopefully we can match it!
We had to have several plumbers come out to fix the backup too because there was no visible cleanout above ground, which apparently you should have. We had to locate the sewer line and then dig a huge hole in order to have a new cleanout installed. Come to find out, someone had stuffed a bunch of rags down the toilet.
