Jordan and I keep in touch really well with one couple from Ft. Benning. It's funny, we only lived in GA with them for about 9 months, but we feel like we've known them forever. Amy's husband, Tyler, is deployed right now so she came to visit us in May (I know I'm really behind on this blog!). She stayed for an extended weekend, and we had a great time! It was actually the first full weekend Jordan had been home since his brain hemorrhage so we didn't really go out and do a whole lot-maybe that's why I only have 1 picture! This was the 1st time she had ever visited Texas so I tried to show her some of our favorite spots and restaurants. We had dinner at Jake's Hamburgers one night, we had breakfast at Breadwinners, pizza from Campisis, and we grilled out at my parents house so she could meet them. We miss them a ton!

My Dad Turned 50!
My Dad turned the big 50 on May 19th! Both my mom and dad took off the entire week, and she had a gift and something fun planned for them every day. One of the days they invited me to come along with them to the Dallas Zoo. We had such a blast!
My mom and I got to feed the giraffes. I felt like a kid because I couldn't have had more fun feeding them!
Aren't they just so cute!

That night we went to my Dad's favorite restaurant, Two Guys From Italy. It is a yummy hole-in-the-wall Italian place.

On the day of his birthday we went to the In-N-Out they had just put in here. It's been a big deal that Dallas was getting an In-N-Out so we waited in line to try whatever the big hype was. The burger was pretty good, but we decided the fries kinda stunk. But now we can say we've been to In-N-Out!
The big present my mom got my dad for his birthday was a new lens for his camera. He has been wanting it for a long time, and he was really excited! Here's a few really cute pics he took with his new lens:

So precious.
I don't think this last one is from his new lens but it was cute anyways.

We're-So-Happy-Jordan-is-healthy-and-Alive Dinner!
When Jordan was in the ICU and things were still a little worrisome, we decided that if and when he was better and back to normal we would splurge and go to a really nice dinner. Well, Jordan is pretty much back to normal - his taste buds certainly are - so we went to Nick and Sam's for dinner last Friday night. If you live in Dallas or visit often and have never been to there, you need to go! It was fantastic! We had wine, caviar, crab cakes, a 48 oz. Porterhouse steak (for 2 of course), and a molten lava cake for dessert. Yumm! And yay for the occasion!

Jason's Graduation Weekend
Jason graduated from Baylor on May 13. We had brunch that Friday before the ceremony at Cafe Cappuccino...one of my favorites in Waco and then dinner at Georges...another of my favorites in Waco. It's so wonderful to go back to your college town and eat some of the yummy local food! mmmmmmm! Mimi and Daddy Cleat were at brunch and the ceremony, and it was so wonderful to see them!
Jordan did very well. This was the first time he had been out of the apartment, doing normal things and he felt great! He took it pretty easy playing golf so he wouldn't overdo it (although not as easy as his wife would've liked :)). He was pretty tired but no big headaches or tingling or anything like that so I think he's on the mend for good hopefully!

Follow-up appointment for Jordan
Last Tuesday Jordan had his follow-up appointment with his neurosurgeon. Dr. Welch showed us Jordan's CT scan, MRI scan, and angiogram images which was pretty cool. Apparently, Jordan has larger than normal cavities (these are kind of hollow areas in the brain that has no brain matter, just spinal fluid) in his brain, which the doctor thinks made his headaches worse than most peoples with this condition. So I have been teasing Jordan that he has huge hollow areas in his brain, haha!
Overall Jordan is at an increased-risk for having another brain hemorrhage the next 5-6 months so he must be careful. No straining or really hard workouts, although he is allowed to start working out again and being more active SLOWLY. Wish me good luck on keeping him reigned in! Otherwise, he is good to go. There won't be any long-term effects. He never has to see Dr. Welch again and there will be no more follow-up imaging, unless something goes wrong. So good news!

A Strange Symptom
Very early Friday morning around 2:45 am, Jordan woke me up saying he was having some odd symptoms. He felt tingling all over his body that began in the base of his head and spread out. He couldn't describe it very well, but did describe it as tingling and burning sensations running throughout his body. It lasted for about 3 hours or so. For about 30 minutes of that time he also had these convulsions/shaking of his entire body. They came in waves and his whole body was shaking. As you can imagine, these symptoms freaked us out quite a bit! I called the doctor on call and spoke with him, and I was just about to take him back to the ER when it started getting a little better so we didn't end up going to the ER. The next day Jordan spoke with the doctor and he said Jordan probably just overdid it the day before and the blood draining out of his head and down his spine probably just irritated a nerve in his spine. He said the shaking was probably just Jordan's body reacting to such an odd sensation. Nevertheless, the doctor told Jordan to slow down and take it easy! If you know Jordan well, this is kind of a foreign concept to him, haha! I definitely have my work cut out for me keeping him cooped up and taking it easy! Anyways, we were just glad it ended up being no big deal and just a warning for him to slow it down a bit!

Jordan Update
Jordan is doing fantastic! Toward the end of last week, I was able to wean him off of around-the-clock pain meds. This was especially good for me, haha, because I was waking up at 12:00am, 2:00 am, and 4:00 am to give him medicine. As you can imagine I was getting pretty exhausted! Anyways, I started skipping certain times to give him medicine and every day he has had to take less and less. Today is the first day he hasn't had to take any pain medication! His headaches are way better! If he does a lot of certain things like watching TV or too much movement then they start to creep back, but overall he is doing great. It's so good to see him start returning to his old self! Whew!
