Futbol!

We have had such a great time watching this summer's Women's World Cup! There have been some really exciting games for the USA that have kept us on the edge of our seats! We can't wait for the final game tomorrow, go USA! It sure makes both Jordan and I miss playing, but speaking of that, we joined a coed indoor league. Today we had our 2nd game of the season. It's amazing how less responsive our bodies are than just a few years ago! haha! We just don't move like we used to! We have gotten killed both games, but we are still having a lot of fun!

Add a Bit of Cream Cheese

This is kind of a random blog, but not much is going on right now in our lives worthy of blogging about, haha. I love cream cheese frostings and cream cheese in desserts, but lately I've been using it in more savory ways too. Yesterday I added it into my enchilada mix, and it was delicious! I also add it to my mashed potatoes...yummy (and thanks for that tip from The Pioneer Woman!) Anyways, try adding it to your savory dishes-it's really good!

4th of July!

For the 4th of July we went to the Woodlands for a long weekend. We had such a wonderful time! We did a lot of lounging around the pool and laughing over good meals. We also went to the St. Arnold brewery, which was really neat. We took a tour and of course tasted some of their beer!

Birthdays and Anniversary Galore!

June is a really busy month for us in terms of birthdays, father's day, and our anniversary. My brother turned 21! A HUGE birthday!! We went to Javiers for dinner so he of course ordered a margarita! The next day is my Aunt Nett's birthday and our anniversary, and the next day is my mom's birthday. My Grandad also has a birthday in June...yes I know there's a lot! My great Aunt June turned 80 as well in June so we had a big family birthday celebration in Oklahoma for her. The picture below is all of us!

This year was our 3rd anniversary! We can't believe it's already been 3 years...and a quite interesting 3 years at that! We definitely didn't think we would be back in Dallas! Jordan got me these awesome golf clubs-they have a little bit of purple on them! Jordan has taken up golf recently, and he was so cute when he gave them to me saying that he wanted us to be able to play together. I got him a kindle. Since he travels a lot for work and he enjoys reading in general, I thought he would really like it. He has been reading from it everyday since! We went to Glorias, one of our favorite restaurants down here by us, for dinner. I had started feeling kinda crummy earlier that day, and it turned pretty yucky at dinner. I ended up coming down with this awful stomach bug that lasted for almost the rest of the week! So that kinda bummed out the tail end of our anniversary but that's okay cause we have many more to come! :)

A Visit From Amy!

Jordan and I keep in touch really well with one couple from Ft. Benning. It's funny, we only lived in GA with them for about 9 months, but we feel like we've known them forever. Amy's husband, Tyler, is deployed right now so she came to visit us in May (I know I'm really behind on this blog!). She stayed for an extended weekend, and we had a great time! It was actually the first full weekend Jordan had been home since his brain hemorrhage so we didn't really go out and do a whole lot-maybe that's why I only have 1 picture! This was the 1st time she had ever visited Texas so I tried to show her some of our favorite spots and restaurants. We had dinner at Jake's Hamburgers one night, we had breakfast at Breadwinners, pizza from Campisis, and we grilled out at my parents house so she could meet them. We miss them a ton!

My Dad Turned 50!

My Dad turned the big 50 on May 19th! Both my mom and dad took off the entire week, and she had a gift and something fun planned for them every day. One of the days they invited me to come along with them to the Dallas Zoo. We had such a blast! My mom and I got to feed the giraffes. I felt like a kid because I couldn't have had more fun feeding them!
Aren't they just so cute!

On the day of his birthday we went to the In-N-Out they had just put in here. It's been a big deal that Dallas was getting an In-N-Out so we waited in line to try whatever the big hype was. The burger was pretty good, but we decided the fries kinda stunk. But now we can say we've been to In-N-Out!

That night we went to my Dad's favorite restaurant, Two Guys From Italy. It is a yummy hole-in-the-wall Italian place.
The big present my mom got my dad for his birthday was a new lens for his camera. He has been wanting it for a long time, and he was really excited! Here's a few really cute pics he took with his new lens:

So precious.

I don't think this last one is from his new lens but it was cute anyways.

We're-So-Happy-Jordan-is-healthy-and-Alive Dinner!

When Jordan was in the ICU and things were still a little worrisome, we decided that if and when he was better and back to normal we would splurge and go to a really nice dinner. Well, Jordan is pretty much back to normal - his taste buds certainly are - so we went to Nick and Sam's for dinner last Friday night. If you live in Dallas or visit often and have never been to there, you need to go! It was fantastic! We had wine, caviar, crab cakes, a 48 oz. Porterhouse steak (for 2 of course), and a molten lava cake for dessert. Yumm! And yay for the occasion!
